YouTube is the most popular video sharing website in the world but it has also become a terror for parents. These are modern times and unlike us, our kids have a smartphone in their pockets. Even though it is sure that they don't know the value of what they are carrying but it does not take long to get used to its bad side.

Unfortunately, YouTube is at the center of it, the website can be accessed easily and it will give the user access to huge collection of videos. This is no way suitable for kids! There are obviously some videos that shouldn't be available to kids. So, YouTube also has a Parental Control system. Just set it right, and your kids will see the type of videos you want them to see. The ways to set YouTube parental controls are detailed below.

Step 1: Open the YouTube app on your mobile and sign in.

log in

Step 2: After that you have to tap on your profile icon to enter your account. The icon will be visible on the tor-right corner of the screen.

Best Parental Control App for Android/iPhone

Activating parental control feature from YouTube settings is good and effective but it does not even compare to what a parental control app like KidsGuard Pro is capable of. Without this app, your access is very limited and you won't be able to monitor too many things. KidsGuard Pro is a proper parental control app capable of monitoring your kid's online presence through their phones. The app has a lot of features:

  • First of all you can have the real-time location of your kid throughout the day.

  • Along with that, you can easily monitor the smartphone usage and the internet usage as well.

  • You can monitor social applications like WhatsApp, Line, Viber etc.

  • You can check the calls and messages on your kid's phone.

So, if you just download and install this app on the target device, you will be able to control every aspect of that device from the Dashboard. Your kid won't even know about the app, because as soon as it is activated, the app icon will be hidden from the device automatically and it will work in the background. This is quite a fascinating addition to the parental control apps.

Enabling parental control on YouTube is very effective but only for YouTube videos. So, from a certain point of view, it may look very effective but it is not. You are only filtering one thing and leaving out the whole device for your kid to experiment. So, a better option is to use KidsGuard Pro, it covers everything; from sending a message to filtering web search. It will also get a detailed report on your kid's smartphone usage. Highly recommended!
